Tuesday Sept 20th 1864

All quiet during the Night (Very
cold) and did not sleep much.
Up at sun-rise Turned out at
7 A.M. the Camp was policed &
limed and the sink cleaned
out. All in at 9 A.M. Sick call
at 9 A.M. 5 men sick in the Squad
At 11 A.M. Drum sounded the
dinner call. Soft Bread ^'(24)' and
fresh Beef ^'(2)' instead of Bacon
Very hot during the middle of
the day. Nothing of any note
until 4 1/2 P.M. the Drum sounded
the supper call Soft Bread (24)
and 4 buckets of Bean Soup
Traded my soup with Eberhart
for his Ration of Meat
